A catch-all mailbox receives email messages sent to inactive email addresses under the same domain name. For instance, an email sent to the miswritten suport@domain.com will go to support@domain.com if the catch-all feature has been activated for the latter. In this way, you can receive messages from friends or customers who may have sent a message to your email address with a typo or to an old one, which they may still have, but you have already deleted. Only one mailbox per domain name can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be activated for such a mailbox. This is so because of the fact that at a certain moment you may begin receiving spam email messages in the catch-all mailbox and the forwarding limitation implies that the spam will not be re-sent to a third-party mailbox.

Catch-all Emails in Cloud Hosting

You’ll be able to configure a catch-all e-mailbox without any effort if you’ve got a cloud hosting plan with us. The Email Manager in our custom Hepsia Control Panel is full-featured, yet remarkably easy to work with, and it will permit you to enable different options, including the catch-all one, with only a few clicks of the mouse. All the email addresses that you have set up will be displayed alphabetically in this section and on the right side of each one you will notice a mini "Catch-all" button. Clicking on it once will enable the feature, clicking on it for a second time will deactivate it. Since you can have only one such mailbox per domain name, our system will warn you if you’ve already got a different one with this option enabled or if you’ve got enabled email forwarding.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers

The in-house built Hepsia Control Panel that comes with each and every semi-dedicated server package that we are offering will allow you to set up a catch-all e-mailbox without any difficulties even in case you do not have much email/web hosting experience. All it takes to do that is to click the catch-all icon, which will be next to each email address that you’ve created with your domains in the Email Manager section of the Control Panel. As you can have only one single mailbox with this feature per domain name, our system will warn you if you’ve already set up a different catch-all mailbox or if the one that you want to use has email forwarding activated. In case you reach the decision that you don’t want this feature anymore, you can turn it off by clicking again on the exact same icon. The Email Manager will also allow you to view your catch-all mailboxes at a glance.
