Memcached in Cloud Hosting
Memcached is offered as an upgrade with each cloud hosting package that we are offering and if you’d like to use it for any script-powered Internet site that you host on our innovative cloud web hosting platform, you will be able to add it in a couple of easy steps via your Hepsia Control Panel. In the meantime, you’ll be offered the option to upgrade two different features – the number of instances and the memory. The first one has to do with the number of the Internet sites that can use the Memcached object caching system simultaneously, so if you need it for several Internet sites, you can get a number of instances. The second one refers to the maximum amount of memory that Memcached will be permitted to use to cache data, so for a lot of sites (or for one regularly visited site), you should get more memory for better performance. The memory is available in increments of 16 MB and more memory can be added every time you need it. With Memcached, any script-based Internet site hosted on our servers will open extra-fast.
Memcached in Semi-dedicated Servers
In case you choose to host your websites in a semi-dedicated server account, you’ll be able to take advantage of Memcached easily, since the distributed memory object caching platform’s activation requires several mouse clicks from the Hepsia Control Panel. The required PHP extension is pre-installed on our semi-dedicated servers, so you can begin using Memcached the moment you add it to your semi-dedicated server account. You will be able to select how many websites can use it and how much information can be cached, i.e. there are two different features that can be upgraded – the number of instances and the amount of system memory. You can get more of both, so if one of your sites becomes very popular, for example, you can always order more memory. Our system is quite flexible in this regard and we don’t bind a specific number of instances to a pre-defined amount of system memory. You can take advantage of the Memcached caching platform to increase the speed of any script-powered website, including those that are based on popular Internet apps, such as WordPress or Joomla™.
Memcached in VPS Servers
Memcached is available as standard with all VPS servers that are ordered with our custom-developed Hepsia hosting Control Panel. The PHP extension it needs in order to function properly is compiled when the VPS server is configured, so you can start using the caching platform as soon as your new VPS is fully operational. The system memory that the Memcached platform can employ depends on the particular Virtual Private Server plan, but even with the less powerful ones, you will get several hundred megabytes that will be at your disposal only for this platform. This will allow you to accelerate the overall performance of multiple websites hosted on the VPS server at the same time and to lower the load even if you have data-rich script-driven sites with numerous visitors. The platform can be used with any script – Mambo, Joomla™ or Drupal™, or a custom one, and you will notice the better performance shortly after you begin using it.
Memcached in Dedicated Servers
Any dedicated server that’s ordered with our Hepsia Control Panel comes with Memcached pre-installed by default, so you can start using the content caching system once the server is assembled, without having to upgrade or install anything. The amount of system memory that Memcached can use depends on the very server that you have chosen, but since our servers are amazingly powerful and due to the fact that it’s likely that you’ll host resource-demanding Internet sites on them, the minimum amount of memory that the caching system can use is 3 GB. This will allow you to enhance the overall performance of very heavy websites without any effort and you will observe the difference shortly after the Memcached caching system begins caching database calls. You can use the caching system with any database-powered online portal, including those that are based on widely used Content Management Systems like Joomla™ and WordPress.
